About Me

My photo
I've been into dollhouse miniatures since the early 1990's now and when I realized how much I've learned during that time, I thought I'd make a blog to share my knowledge with others. I'm mostly auto-deduct, but always found help on the Internet and in specific books. The mini-world starts and ends with your own imagination, so let there be no limit. And never say : I CAN'T .... because you can, you just need to try and have the necessary know-how. And that's the main reason why I started this blog, because I wanna share what I know with newbies in the miniature world or anybody else who might be interested in sharing what I've learned so far. So, hopefully, I'll be able to provide some useful hints, tips and tricks for those of you out there just starting with this wonderful hobby

GARDEN COTTAGE : Let's take a tour of the finished project

Hi guys

I've been quite busy over the last few months, unfortunately not only with my miniatures, but I always try to find time to work on them

I have finished my Garden Cottage, I've already posted lots of pics about it, but here's the finished version ... since it's a birthday gift for my good friend Evelyne, it's gonna leave the house on April 14th, which is very very soon, so I thought I'd make some more pics

I didn't want to bore you with adding text to each pic, thought maybe you just wanted to browse through them and enjoy finding as much details as possible

Front View

Flowers I made, Pots I painted

Lavender made with Flower Soft, Roses made with Paper

Table is ready, let's have a glass of wine or a cup of coffee

I always add a few personal details to the furniture once I've finished painting

One side of the garden and the flowers I made, some from a kit,
others with dried flowers and flower soft

Since my friend Evelyne loves to spend time outside in the garden, I thought this little flower paradise is just perfect for her

The palm tree was made from a kit
I made these little bird houses

Oh, a visitor

More flowers I made .... also tried to make a watering can

For someone who loves flowers and gardening, t
his is just the right spot to spend time outside the house

A few closeup pictures

I worked really hard on these flowers to make them look as good as possible

Another view of the entire project

The side door, welcoming guests of course

I made this little welcome sign myself

A fern in an old water fountaine

I made the basket, then the flowers

Cute little details all ov

I also made this beaded curtain, to keep out flying insects 😺😺

The back door with nice flower boxes, filled with geraniums

Now that I look at the finished project, I'm pretty sure Evelyne will love this present

More flowers I made (these were made from a kit)

A closer view

My geraniums

I also made the curtains

.... and the sofa, as well as the round stool

I added a few pillows and a magazine

After I finished painting this table, I added some lace and flower decals and
decorated it with lots of my DIY items

She loves cats, has 3 of them, so I really needed to add some to this projects
Their pillow is made from the same fabric I used for the curtains

A nicely filled wall shelf

I love that shabby chic look with lots of rose patterns
so I made these to hang over the door

I especially love this little corner, with this red and pink table
I added pieces of paper with a rose pattern, made a shopping bag, with one of the baguettes
I made for my bakery, I also made the 2 jugs, the bottle and the little pot on top, as well as
the 2 boxes on the floor
The carpet has been printed on special fabric paper.

This little chest was perfect to be used as a bar with all the bottles inside
I made the houseplant (from a kit) and another shopping bag, to which I added a few new tablecloths

I tried to give this furniture an aged look by using the crackeling technique, then I added my lovely DIY items and it looks just perfect

The china was purchases of course, but I made the bowls on top

Oh hello there .... good morning to you

A birds-eye view of the interior, again very colorful

I made that little table in front of the sofa and used very very tiny square beads
to make it look like a mosaic

just a few more pics

and a very personal detail : the picture on the wall shows Evelyne, my hubby and myself during a
holiday in Italy we spent together

My watering can doesn't look bad, does it ?

Flowers, Flowers, Flowers

A little parasol to give some shade

I really hope you liked the tour of my little garden cottage, it's a lovely projects and I surely enjoyed working on it. I even loved it so much that I bought the same kit twice, but up until now, I don't know what the second one will be

Stay tuned, there's more to come

See ya
