This blog is about my love for dollhouses and miniatures in 1:12th scale. I've started with this hobby a long time ago and ever since, I've learned a lot about this hobby, but mostly I've learned to get to love that little world more and more. It's magic, it's an escape from the real world, it's just the way I want it and nobody get's hurt in this world, no bad things happen. So let me welcome you to my blog and have fun browsing through my miniature world.
I've been into dollhouse miniatures since the early 1990's now and when I realized how much I've learned during that time, I thought I'd make a blog to share my knowledge with others. I'm mostly auto-deduct, but always found help on the Internet and in specific books. The mini-world starts and ends with your own imagination, so let there be no limit. And never say : I CAN'T .... because you can, you just need to try and have the necessary know-how. And that's the main reason why I started this blog, because I wanna share what I know with newbies in the miniature world or anybody else who might be interested in sharing what I've learned so far.
So, hopefully, I'll be able to provide some useful hints, tips and tricks for those of you out there just starting with this wonderful hobby
I slowly get to the end of my beach project, there are still a few things to do of course, but meanwhile I tried to think about what's gonna be next ......
and I decided I will make something in shabby chic style
One of the things I love about shabby chic are these enamel pitchers, canisters, cans and jugs etc. and I started to look around for the right pattern.
I found a few and Jill LUCAS who made a wonderful sofa for me (see pic below) also makes these beautifuls jugs (I was lucky to have found here over FB : https://www.facebook.com/jill.lucas.583)
and she is not only a very talented miniaturist, but also a very nice and kind lady. When she posted my sofa, she also added a pattern for the jugs she makes .... thanks a lot JILL
and so I decided to give it a try and it was just so much fun ..... I just couldn't stop making them :-)
If any of you wants to have details on how I made those, don't hesitate to get in touch, I'll be glad to share the technique which by the way is really easy, so don't worry
have fun checking the pics (Jill's sofa first of course)
And here are the jugs I made :-)
You have been warned : THIS IS HIGHLY ADDICTIVE
Here's the pattern (I do have a PDF version if you want, so feel free to contact me via email at
firstname.lastname@example.org and I'll be happy to send you a copy)
