About Me

My photo
I've been into dollhouse miniatures since the early 1990's now and when I realized how much I've learned during that time, I thought I'd make a blog to share my knowledge with others. I'm mostly auto-deduct, but always found help on the Internet and in specific books. The mini-world starts and ends with your own imagination, so let there be no limit. And never say : I CAN'T .... because you can, you just need to try and have the necessary know-how. And that's the main reason why I started this blog, because I wanna share what I know with newbies in the miniature world or anybody else who might be interested in sharing what I've learned so far. So, hopefully, I'll be able to provide some useful hints, tips and tricks for those of you out there just starting with this wonderful hobby

DIY Fimo Creations : Mini Tartlets

Hi everybody

sorry for not posting anything over the last week, but as you can see in today's pictures, I had a lot of work :-))

I have finally made up my mind that my next project will definitely be a bakery, or more precisely a french "pâtisserie" with a few tables where customers can sit down and enjoy the home-made specialties

Sorry about the picture quality ... not very good

Somehow I just couldn't stop making these tiny little cakes and tarlets
I used mostly polymer clay of course, but I added a few pieces of Angie Scarr's canes on top and some other which I made myself of course

You might see tiny little beads as toppings. It was quite a job to find those, since I really needed those very very tiny ones with no hole. Thanks to the Internet, I always find what I need, sooner or later, lol

The cakes were all pre-baked separately, before I started to add the toppings

To get the toppings to hold, I used either liquid FIMO or a special mix for which I found the recipe in one of Angie Scarr's books about polymer clay miniature food. It is a mix of liquid FIMO, tiny portions of oil paint and shoveled snow (DELUXE MATERIALS), available on the Internet too

There's more to come, so stay tuned

See ya
