Hi everyone
Those among you who've been followers of my blog since the beginning already know that I do have my very own personal style when it come to the interior decoration of my dollhouses and other miniature projects
I think I've talked about it in earlier posts .... about how much I love to keep up one specific color scheme in each room.
Look at he dining room in my Grosvenor Hall, which is a fine example.
First I made flooring, then I try to find a wallpaper that matches with the flooring, the I start to add details like the colums on the back wall, which I pimped up with some gold color.
I had already chosen all the furniture and one each one has found it's final place in the room, I start painting them. For this room, I used light yellow, ochre, green and gold on all the furniture
The Lavender Living Room in the Grosvenor Hall is another one I made with a specific color scheme, which is ... you might have guessed it by now ... mainly lavender :-)
I even used small pieces of wallpaper which I added to some of the furniture
The Turquoise TV Room also show what I mean by color scheme
I used wallpaper with a flower pattern on both sides of the room, but the back wall is a simple plain turquoise. Side tables were painted in a darker tone of the same color and I even used wallpaper for the sofa table top
Same here for Emma's study room. Once she had chosen the black and white
wallpaper (stripes on 3 walls and a B/W flower pattern on 1 wall) and the yellow carpet,
I used the same colors to paint the furniture
The main color for my beach bar is blue, this can vary from dark blue, to light blue, just mix around your colors and test them before starting to actually paint
When you're using a wallpaper with a distinct pattern and as colorful as the one I used here in this beautiful bedroom, you need to be careful with the choice of color for your furniture, because you don't want it to look like a carnival, don't you. The brown carpet f.ex. gives an elegant touch.
I chose the brass bed and beside tables especially for this room, because they match nicely with the carpet and the wallpaper.
As you can see, this is something fun to make and everybody who's not afraid of colors can play around here until your end result is what you want.
Have fun
See ya soon
